Welcome to the Falmouth Theatre Guild! FTG is one of the most exciting and successful theaters on Cape Cod with a long tradition of high quality productions of both musicals and plays. We are excited to have you offer your talents and time to community theater. The information below provides basic instructions and forms for proposing a show to direct here at FTG. We look forward to your submission, and thank you for supporting FTG!

Show proposals should include a draft budget worksheet (click button at the bottom of this section to access) so we can have an idea of what resources you will need to put up your show.

The deadline for submissions in December 15, 2021
Location of Rehearsals and Performances:
Most of our rehearsals take place at Highfield Theater although, sometimes it may be necessary to find an alternate place to rehearse. All our productions are at Highfield Theater.
FTG productions typically rehearse 2-3 days per week (with the exception of Tech Week) staring about 10 weeks prior to opening. Directors are requested to develop a rehearsal schedule for their production upon casting the show.
Script and Royalty Guidelines:
The Play Reading Chair and the Board of Directors will be responsible for obtaining production rights (royalties and rental).
Production Team Guidelines:
The production proposal form requires directors to propose a tentative production staff. While we realize that some directors may be new and don’t have the resources to fill a production staff, FTG Board Members may be able to help make suggestions. If your proposed team members have never worked with FTG, please provide a short description of their experience in each specific production role. Also, if you are a new director to FTG, please provide us with a resume.
Timing of the Proposal Review Process:
Submissions are due no later than December 15th, 2021 for the 2022-2023 season. Once all the submissions are received, the Play Reading Committee will go through all submissions and be sure they are complete. Any questions on a submission will be addressed by the Play Reading Chair before submitting proposals to the FTG Board of Directors. At that time, individual appointments with directors will be set up by Play Reading Chair to present their proposal to the FTG Board of Directors. Final selections will be announced in our Spring Show Program.
