SHOW DETAILS:
The director of the play is Brian Switzer of Woods Hole, who is a teacher at Morse Pond School in Falmouth and founder and director of Acting Camp for Kids, which takes place annually in the summer in Woods Hole.
The show, which will last about an hour and 15 minutes with no intermission, will have six performances with opening weekend corresponding with Falmouth’s Christmas By The Sea Weekend, December 5, 6, and 7. The other three performances are December 12, 13, and 14.
The main section of the play is an ensemble piece with 13 children—7 boys and 6 girls—all having significant roles. Twelve of the children, 7 boys and 5 girls are members of a Little League baseball team. The 13th cast member is a young girl who is the younger sister of one of the boys on the team.
There are two roles for adults, a father, whose voice is heard only, and an umpire.
In addition, because the production will be a play within a play, there are parts for a father, mother and two children (a boy and a girl), whose parts come at the beginning and end of the show.
There will also be opportunities for children to participate as costumed ballpark vendors who sell snacks to the audience during the production.
